Front Desk Board

A kanban-style board designed for front desk operations. Track client arrivals, manage wait times, and move appointments through their journey from check-in to checkout.

Board Columns

The board organizes today's appointments into four columns representing the client journey:

Not Checked In

Upcoming appointments awaiting client arrival

Waiting

Client has arrived and is waiting for service

In Progress

Service is currently being performed

Completed

Finished appointments ready for checkout

Keyboard Shortcuts

The Front Desk Board is keyboard-first. Navigate and perform actions without touching your mouse:

Move between columns

Smart Attention System

The board automatically detects situations that need your attention and displays them in a collapsible bar at the top:

Potential No-Shows

Appointments that are 15+ minutes past their start time with no check-in. Quick action buttons let you mark as no-show directly from the attention bar.

Long Wait Times

Clients waiting 15+ minutes after check-in. Wait times over 25 minutes are flagged as critical. Start service directly from the attention bar.

Wait Time Tracking

When a client checks in, the board tracks how long they've been waiting. Wait times are displayed on cards in the Waiting column:

  • 0-14 minNormal - no indicator
  • 15-24 minWarning - amber indicator
  • 25+ minCritical - red indicator + attention alert

Quick Actions

Select a card to reveal quick action buttons. Each column has context-appropriate actions:

Classes Integration

If your business offers classes, they appear on the board alongside regular bookings. Class cards show:

  • Class name and scheduled time
  • Instructor name
  • Enrollment count vs capacity
  • Check-in progress for in-progress classes

Day Summary

The footer shows real-time stats for the current day:

  • Total - all appointments today
  • Completed - finished services
  • No-shows - missed appointments
  • Revenue - completed booking value
  • Progress - % of day completed

Live Updates

The board updates automatically when appointments change. A green "Live" indicator in the header shows when you're connected to real-time updates.

Auto-refresh

New bookings, status changes, and cancellations appear instantly without refreshing.

Staff Notifications

When a client checks in, assigned team members receive a push notification so they can prepare for the appointment.

Reconnection

If connection is lost, the board will automatically reconnect and refresh to catch up on any missed updates.
